Catching Up...2017 April and May

In April 2017 we celebrated Easter with the family. Here is a picture of our family at Church and a picture of me with my Mom and Dad at their house.

May always starts with May Day on May 1st. My Mom and I have been celebrating it for years by putting together little bouquets of flowers and taking them to friends. Traditionally these would be left on the door knob as a surprise, but we usually get caught, sometimes on purpose, and we get to visit with our friends. Some of them, we don't get to see too often, so it's always nice to chat for a bit.  The kids help us when they can and are willing.

One day in May the kids and I visited my friend Kat to pick leeks. Leeks are a type of wild onion that grows in the woods wild in the Spring. We love them. This year I pickled a bunch of them.

Of course I took lots of nature photos in the Spring. Here are a few of them.

In May we celebrated Mother's Day. My children are always wonderful at making me feel loved and appreciated!

And we spent some time playing at Center Lake and fishing.

The fish aren't always keepers, but the memories are!

Updating My Blog

I deleted my Facebook account on New Year's Eve. I had been on there for 12 years so there were quite a bit of memories and photos there. I hadn't updated this blog for a few years, so I think I will update and post some about what has happened since then.

I mostly keep this blog as a journal for myself and family to keep our most important memories alive. I love that others enjoy reading it and especially that they enjoy looking at some of my photography.

I love taking photos of nature, especially macro photos. I just have a simple camera, so I don't get as close as I've seen other photographers do. I love being outside though and getting as close as I can. I love seeing and capturing things that others miss. I always walk slowly, looking up and down and all around to find something unique. Being outside makes me feel so peaceful and content.

The next several posts will likely be catch up posts to bring my blog up to date.  I hope you'll stick around if you've seen it before or heard the stories already. Lots of new photos and stories of my life will be coming this year for sure. Thank you for checking it out and sharing in my journey.

I think the blog looks best on Home Computer or in Desktop View, but it IS the same content either way. Here is how it looks on Home Computer or Desktop View.

Camp Fire At My Fort

The kids and I went out in the woods and had a campfire today at my fort. They roasted some marshmallows. It was so nice out today. Hercules Mulligan (our Olde English Bulldogge) and Allison's new pup, Scout (English Springer Spaniel) seemed to enjoy their time outside too.  I wish I could sleep out there over night in the winter like I did in the Fall. I do hope to do a night time campfire soon. I love it there!

Happy New Year 2021!

Happy New Year! The kids and I had a great time last night celebrating!
We went to Allison's new house and ate yummy food, played games, and laughed all night long!

Tim stayed home with Hercules Mulligan, our sweet Olde English Bulldogge. Tim doesn't get into games, or overeating, or staying up late like the rest of us. Ha ha ha. Nice though that he was able to be with pupper. He (Herc) gets depressed when we are gone for too long.

Allison made me a Non-Alcoholic Margarita.  She put Country Time Lemonade in a salt rimmed glass with a slice of lime in it. Ha ha ha!

Clara won the Villains Monopoly Game, in spite of Allison's cheating!

Imaginiff
This game caused a lot of laughing!

I think Balderdash is my favorite board game. It's so much fun!! I never even care whether I win or lose, it's just hilarious to play.

Here is to 2021!! I think it's going to be a wonderful year!
